BestMARC has now been updated to include Update 25 of the MARC Bibliographic spec from the Library of Congress. The new fields and subfields are now reflected in the MARC editor.

The largest change focuses on adding a new $1 control subfield to many fields of the MARC record that is used to enter a Real World Object URI. This contains a URI to a description that identifies the thing (Real World Object) that is contained in the $0 subfield (Authority record control number or standard number). This will generally be a link to a specific entry in a site like viaf.org or Library of Congress’s Linked Data Service.
